Encouraging Bible Verses for Caregivers

Rachel
April 7, 2022

As caregivers, we all need encouragement while we’re on our caregiving journeys.

Sometimes the road is so rocky, it can feel impossible that we’re on the right path.

You can search high and low for praise and encouragement, but all you really need to do is open God’s word. Nobody sees you like Our Heavenly Father sees you, even when you are feeling invisible.

Below, please find a prayer and a few Bible verses that encouraged me and reminded me of God’s unfailing love and protection while I was caring for my grandma.

A Prayer for Caregivers

You can pray this prayer or tell the Heavenly Father whatever is on your heart.

Lord, help me to remember that you are always with me. Even when I feel alone, you are ever present, watching over me and working in my life. I trust that you will always give me what I need to survive, now and in the future. Thank you for strengthening me. Amen.

Scripture

“But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is a reward for your work.”
2 Chronicles 15:7 ESV
(My friend, Aimee, sent me this verse written in a card years ago in the middle of my caregiving journey. Thank you, Aimee ๐Ÿฅฐ)

"But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is a reward for your work."
2 Chronicles 15:7 ESV

“Once God has spoken; Twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.” Psalm 62:11-12 ESV

"Once God has spoken; Twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work." Psalm 62:11-12 ESV

“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”
Proverbs 11:25 ESV

"Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered."
Proverbs 11:25 ESV

“โ€œYou are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.“
Matthew 5:14-16 ESV

"โ€œYou are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 5:14-16 ESV

“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
Luke 6:38 ESV

"Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you."
Luke 6:38 ESV

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 ESV

"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 ESV

“But he said to me, โ€œMy grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.โ€ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
2 Corinthians 12:9-10

"For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
James 1:2-4

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."
